The opening mid-shot reveals a kitsch girls room filmed being held by hand and edited cuts of different angles with flashes of pale colours making it feel surreal like a dream. Close up shots of the bed reveals many teenagers appearing from under the cover waking up. The video starts in a chronological order of the day. Here the characters are presented as daisy's friends and they have breakfast and start the day. The day consists of taking many obscure objects to a field to have their own little party.
Here are the practice stop-motion short videos i attempted as an idea as part of my development.

These ideas didn't turn out how i had planned. I was glad i practiced before the real filming because the sparklers didn't last as long as i thought so there wasn't much time to capture them in motion. I planned to shoot at sunset, so at 6.30 I organized with my model to meet but the light disappears in half an hour which wasn't enough time to film in. The idea was to take continuous shots of people dancing and jumping, the sparklers acting as light and decoration but the pictures wouldn't take fast enough so the images didn't flow like a video would. I have to reconsider the lighting of shooting late outside as i realized this wouldn't work well. The lip syncing didn't go well either for the same reason that the continuous shooting wasn't fast enough to enough capture pictures to allow the audience to recognize what they are saying.
These are my first shot designs. The storyboard is very basic but gives an order to what scene would be filmed first and the description gives a basic idea to how it would be shot. Later i will test these in stop-motion photos to see that they work well.
I placed my chosen ideas into a short storyboard and planned to set up some of these situations in a mock, circumstance to see if they worked. I attempted lip syncing first with a friend. She sung along to a song and i tried to take continuous shots on my camera to capture her lips moving and match it to the music. This didn't work well because my camera stopped after a few seconds saying 'Busy' as it takes time to process. This meant I missed a lot of the lyrics so I wont be using this difficult process in the real video. Another plan i tried was taking the pictures as it turned dark, setting up the sparklers scene outside.
As planned, i attended an event at a pub, The Nags Head in High Wycombe to watch Fluid Lines perform on the 24th September and brought along a HD Video camera to catch them live. My idea was to turn this film Black and white to depict it from the set up performance and gave me the chance to capture the audience singing along to the lyrics and the stage and lighting already set up.
I practiced filming outside to make sure everything was working right so focused on the moon, i liked this clip and may use in in the real edit on the music video. When i used it inside though, something went wrong with the camera and it wouldn't film properly. It unexpectedly came up with a warning sign that an error had occurred and the film may be damaged. I didn't manage to record much as i think the vibrations from the speakers effected the camera too much for it to handle.
These are some of the scenes i did capture, but many of them are cut so short, there are definitely not enough of any decent quality for me to use. This was a learning curve in that i went out and tried one of my ideas and now have to rethink how to approach the filming idea. One plan is to just focus on setting up my own performance setting, another is to try again using a FlipHD camera which is a small hand held device, which still produces good quality images and may be able to withstand the vibrations of the loud noise.
